Senior Hydraulic Modeller

Job description

Senior Hydraulic Modeller (Senior/Principal/Associate)
Competitive salary
UK (remote working)

Allen & York are excited to be working with a specialist flood risk, drainage and water management consultancy firm, providing technical consultancy advice to a broad base of clients including property developers, renewable energy companies, legal firms and planning consultants.

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Hydraulic Modeller to join the expanding team.

You will be responsible for developing hydraulic models to assess flood risk, preparing fee proposals and hydrological and hydraulic modelling reports.

You'll need to hold a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering/Science, Geography (with a physical base) or related discipline. With comprehensive experience of Flood Modeller (1D) and TUFLOW (2D), together with hydrological modelling in a similar role with a UK based consultancy firm, local authority or government agency, you'll be proficient in hydrological flood estimation methods (WINFAP and ReFH2) and be a competent user of GIS. You'll have experience of developing others by providing technical guidance and training to junior team members. An excellent communicator, you'll be hard working, organised and motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

You may be based anywhere in the UK, with hybrid working an option if you are within a commutable distance of the office in North Wales. Elsewhere, there is an opportunity for using flexible office workspace.

It would be advantageous to the role if you hold a UK driving licence, have a post-graduate degree and be a Chartered Member of CIWEM or other relevant institution (or be willing to work towards gaining chartership).

In return for your specialist skills and experience, you'll receive a competitive salary and benefits package with the opportunity for rapid career progression and flexible working.
